Hamsters are omnivorous which means they eat both vegetable and insects. Your little furry friend’s wild cousins would eat seeds, grains, and nuts. They will also eat fresh fruits and veggies and small insects. This is very different from the diet that your pet hamster will eat. Your pet hamsters main diet will mainly consist of either pellets or dried muesli but you can give him other things in moderation like seeds, fruit, veggies, chicken and boiled eggs. Below is a list of safe food for your hamster. If you can’t get organic always remember to wash anything you feed to him in case of pesticides etc.
This is safe food for Syrian Hamsters. I will put separate lists up for safe food for Dwarf Hamsters and Chinese Hamsters.

Hamsters digestive systems very sensitive so any changes to their diet should be done gradually. If you are changing your hamster’s food to include types of fruit or vegetables he’s never eaten before, only add one at a time and monitor him for any tummy upsets. This way you will be able to identify which vegetable is causing him problems so you can exclude it from his diet. Be aware that not all fruit and veg are safe food for your hamster
