There’s nothing more satisfying than a bowl of hot, homemade lentil soup and this ninja lentil soup recipe is one of the easiest. Everything is done in the Ninja from chopping the onion to blending it at the end. Having a soup maker is a must in a busy household. Just throw everything in and switch it on, it’s as simple as that.
This is my go to recipe on a cold, wet and dreary afternoon. It’s healthy, hearty and super filling served with a large crust of bread. I have always wanted to try a bread bowl where the bread is the bowl and this soup would be great for that as it’s quite thick. Let me know if you try this and how you get on with it.
Serves 4
Ingredients for Ninja Lentil Soup
- 1 onion halved
- half a small swede peeled and cubed
- 3 medium carrots peeled and sliced
- 75gms of red lentils
- 800 ml of ham stock
- splash of olive oil

Method
- Place the onion and oil in your Ninja and press the chop option
- When the chopping is done select saute (this takes 5 minutes)
- Rinse the lentils
- Peel and chop the carrots and swede
- Make your stock
- When the machine has finished with the saute add the rest of the ingredients and select smooth soup.
- This will take 30 minutes.
- After 29 minutes the machine will blend your ninja Lentil Soup and it’s ready to serve.
The beauty of this soup is it freezes really well. Let the soup cool and pop in to plastic boxes and straight in to the freezer. The day before you want to eat the soup take it out and pop in the fridge to defrost. If you forget to take it out of the freezer don’t worry, it will cook just as well in the microwave from frozen.
